The Ottawa Senators are the official NHL team for Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are part of the Northeast division of the Eastern Conference. The team was named after the original Ottawa Senators which were formed in 1883 and won 11 Stanley Cup championships. The new Ottawa Senators were formed in 1990 and had a shaky start placing last in its first four seasons.
